City-wide Boil Water Notice issued Tuesday night

The entire city of Breckenridge is under a boil water notice as of about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, according to Breckenridge Public Works Director Houston Satterwhite.
The problem is the result of a damaged water valve in the Parks Street construction area. All water customers in the City of Breckenridge are affected.
Satterwhite reported that because of the problem, the City is conserving water. Many customers are experiencing low-water pressure or no water pressure. Satterwhite said late Tuesday that the City hopes to have the water pressure remedied within a few hours.
The boil water notice will remain in effect for a minimum of 48 hours, until the water is tested and is approved as safe to drink by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
