The fourth annual Wags & Whiskers 5K and Furry Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Breckenridge City Park, 601 E. Walker St. Although participants may register up until the start of the race, in order to be guaranteed a race t-shirt, registration must be received by Saturday, Oct. 13.

All proceeds will benefit the Stephens County Humane Society. This year, the Humane Society is raising funds to add cross fencing to the shelter’s yard so that they can let several dogs out at one time to enjoy the outdoors.

The 5K fee for early registration is $30 for those age 18 and older, and $20 for those age 17 and younger. Early registration for the Fun Run is $15 for all ages. On race day, the registrations will cost $35 (18+), $25 (17 and younger), and $20 (Fun Run).

According to the organizers, well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to participate with their humans. The Humane Society will also have animals on site that are available for adoption.

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division and to the top overall male and female runners.

The award categories will include male and female divisions for the following age brackets:

• 12 & Under
• 13-17
• 18-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60-69
• 70+

The race day schedule will be as follows:

• Check in – 7-8:15 a.m.
• 5K start – 8:30 a.m.
• Fun Run start – 8:45 a.m.
