Phyllis Fichthorn
Phyllis Fichthorn, age 80 of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with B.A. Thurman officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, at Morehart Mortuary.
Phyllis Alberta Irelan was born on December 2, 1937, to parents, Raymond Albert Irelan and Gertrude Wannita Wilson Irelan in Richmond, Indiana. On February 16, 2002, Phyllis married Forrest Roland Fichthorn in Quartz Hill, California. While in California, Phyllis managed a newspaper area for the Herald Examiner. The Fichthorns moved to Breckenridge in 2005 and were the owners of Meadowgreen Apartments. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and helped Forrest arrange several Gospel music festivals throughout the years. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing solitaire.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Gertrude Irelan; her husband, Forrest Fichthorn; one son, James Christman; one brother, James Irelan; and one sister, Alice Irelan.
Mrs. Fichthorn is survived by seven children, Lynn Smith, Michael Christman, Bruce Kelly and wife Cherise, Lois Smith, Randy Kelly and wife Ronnell, Gary Brooks, Kris Childs and wife Lupe; two sisters, Evelyn Lam and Marjorie Siever and husband Doug; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
