Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts to host registration rally today

Breckenridge Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will have a recruitment rally at 6:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 13, at South Elementary School, 1001 W. Elliott St.

The event will be open to kids who are interested in joining the scouts, as well as their parents. Cub Scout Pack 81 is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. Boy Scout Troop 63 is for boys in sixth grade and older.

This morning, George Niebling, District Executive for the Old Comanche Trails District of the Texas Trails Council, will visit the elementary schools to talk to the students. At the rally, Mark Conrad, Scout Executive for the Texas Trails Council will be on hand to talk to parents and kids, as will local Scout Master Matt Wunsch and Assistant Scout Master Brian Kight.

Boys and girls who want to join the local Cub and Boy Scout groups need to bring their parents or guardians to the event to register. Registration will cost $12 per child.
