July 30  

  • A deputy issued a 62-year-old male a Criminal Trespass Warning for an address on Sierra Drive and Sha Lane, after the male was walking on the property causing a disturbance.

 July 31  

  • The Sheriff’s Office arrested two females in the parking lot of a gaming/gambling establishment on W. Walker Street. The 38-year-old female was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 24-year-old female was arrested for two warrants, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no vehicle insurance. Her warrants were related to past citations for unrestrained children in a moving vehicle.

 August 1

  • A deputy and the Justice of the Peace responded to the 5300 block of U.S. Highway 180 West for an unattended death report of a 66-year-old male. The preliminary investigation shows no signs of foul play.

 August 2

  • A deputy issued a Criminal Trespass warning to a 56-year-old male for an address on CR 141, after the property owner suspected the male to be stealing.
  •  A deputy made a traffic stop that resulted in the driver being arrested for Driving While License Invalid with a Previous Conviction. This occurred on West Walker Street.

 August 3

  • A deputy traveled to Taylor County Jail to arrest a 38-year-old male on two warrants related to a past Criminal Trespass offense and a past Disorderly Conduct warrant. The male was transported back to Stephens County Jail.
  • The Sheriff’s Office arrested a 37-year-old female for three warrants related to felony Credit Card/Debit Card Abuse, and two traffic warrants for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Expired Registration.
  •  Deputies applied for and obtained a search warrant on a vehicle after suspicious circumstances occurred while its owner was attending court on Thursday, Aug. 2. The search warrant resulted in law enforcement intelligence being gathered and a citation issued for drug paraphernalia.
  •  A burglary of a home report was made on CR 332.
  •  A stolen vehicle report was made from a residence on U.S. Highway 180 East.

 August 4

  • Sheriff Will Holt attended Buckaroo Bash and hosted a table at the welcome back rally for Breckenridge Independent School District students. The event was held at First United Methodist Church.

 August 5

  • A report of criminal mischief was made at a residence in the 10,000 block of FM 717 South.
  • A report of theft was made in the 100 block of FM 717 North.

 August 7

  • A deputy and a Breckenridge Police Department officer served a felony arrest warrant on a 65-year-old male in the 100 block of Shirley Courts. The warrant was for the registered sex offender failing to properly notify his residence.

 August 8

  • A deputy arrested a 70-year-old male for a felony warrant related to a past methamphetamine arrest. This occurred at the male’s home on CR 204.
  • A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that resulted in the 22-year-old male passenger of the vehicle being arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
  • A deputy responded to the Texas DPS driver’s license office in the courthouse to serve an arrest warrant on a 49-year-old female. The warrant was related to a past theft out of Taylor County.
  • A theft report was made on CR 141.

August 13

  • A burglary of a home was reported on South Lowell Avenue.
  • Sheriff Holt trained North Elementary and East Elementary teachers and staff on how to respond to an active shooter.

 August 14

  • A deputy initiated a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 180 West. The 28-year-old male driver was arrested for a Forgery warrant out of Palo Pinto.
  • Chief Deputy Kevin Roach trained South Elementary teachers and staff on how to respond to an active shooter. Sheriff Holt trained the junior high and high school teachers and staff on how to respond to an active shooter.
  • A deputy served four arrest warrants on a 33-year-old male who was already in jail. The warrants are related to: Resisting Arrest/Search, Terroristic Threat Against a Family Member, Criminal Mischief, and another Terroristic Threat Against a Family Member.
  • A deputy arrested a 51-year-old male from a residence in the 1000 block of South Smith Avenue. The arrest warrant was related to a past resisting arrest/search offense.
  • A theft was reported near the intersection of FM 207 and U.S. Highway 180 East. The property was located at a scrap yard, where it had been sold.
  • Two male inmates of Stephens County Jail were transported to the Walker Sayle Unit just outside of Breckenridge. They will undergo their prison sentence and drug rehabilitation.

August 17

  • A deputy drove to Tarrant County Jail to arrest and transport a 30-year-old female back to Stephens County Jail. The female was arrested for a warrant related to felony Theft of Property.
  • A deputy made a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 180 West that resulted in the driver being arrested for Driving While License Invalid with a Prior Conviction.

August 19

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant on a 33-year-old male for a warrant related to probation violation for Driving While License Invalid. The arrest occurred on CR 310.
