Sidney Vick, 79, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018, in Fort Worth. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Necessity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Necessity Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

Sidney Everett Vick was born on August 24, 1938, in Breckenridge to John Vick and Alice Morgan Vick. He graduated from Breckenridge High School then attended Cisco Jr. College. He then enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his time in the Navy, he went to court reporting school in Abilene. Later, Sid moved to New Mexico then to Necessity in 1976. He married Ginger Langford in 1978 at Necessity. He was a Rancher and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, training horses, and hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Vick of Necessity; daughter Tracy Stutheit and husband Scott of Fort Worth; son, Keith Vick and wife Sheila of Boyd; step-son, Spud Mowles of Paducah; brother, Jack Vick of Perrin; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Gracie. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold Vick.
