Sylvia Ford Geron
Sylvia Ford Geron, age 81 of Breckenridge, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 17, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 21, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Father DeWayne Adams officiating. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July 23, in the Shorthorn Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
Sylvia Sue Ford was born March 13, 1937, in Waco, Texas, to parents Wesley Ford and Virginia Curry Ford. She graduated as the valedictorian from McGregor High School in 1954. After graduation she went on to graduate from Tarleton in 1956 and then from Sul Ross State with a B.S. in 1958 and an M.A. in 1961. On August 24, 1957, Sylvia married Jesse L. Geron, Jr. in Gatesville. Sylvia worked as a teacher in Marfa, Hereford and Brownfield for 33 years before her retirement. She was a member at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. She served on the board of the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center, as well as the Library board and volunteered for the food pantry. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jesse Geron of Breckenridge; and one sister, Betsy Carini of Scottsdale, Arizona.
