Local athletes participate in FCA All-Star games
Several local athletes participated in the Big Country Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star games last weekend.
In Abilene on Saturday evening, recent Breckenridge High School graduate Riley Durham played on the FCA-Blue football team. The game was broadcast live on KTAB-TV. Participating as part of the FCA All-Star cheer team were fellow BHS graduates Kennedi Toombs and Samantha Stephens, who won the Spirit Award.
Joining the students for the game was Breckenridge resident Rickey Townson, who served as a referee for the game. The All-Stars game was Townson’s last game, as he has retired after 21 years of officiating.
Additionally, one of the trainers for the game was Bill Pearce, former BHS coach and current BHS trainer.
On Friday, recent BHS graduate Makenna Moser played on the FCA North All-Stars team in San Angelo.
Also scheduled to play in FCA All-Stars games over the weekend were Marcos Gonzales, baseball; and Taylor Stanley, basketball.
