May 21

  • A male inmate in Stephens County Jail was transported to a TDCJ prison near Abilene.

May 22

  • Three head of cattle were reported killed near CR 292 sometime during the past week. The total long-term value lost is estimated at $15,300.  If anyone has any tip as to how the cattle died, contact the sheriff’s office.

May 23

  • A deputy transported a local juvenile back to Breckenridge for court from a delinquent youth facility in Wichita Falls.
  •  A victim of credit card abuse came to the S.O. to report that her card was illegally used in Houston for the amount of $150. The elderly victim and her card have not been to Houston while she has owned that particular card.

May 24

  • While conducting an investigation on an abandon vehicle on CR 152, a deputy learned that the owner of the vehicle was confined in Stephens County Jail, and had an outstanding warrant from Cisco. The deputy served the warrant on the 37-year-old male, which was related to a past speeding citation.
  • A deputy arrested a male at the courthouse for disorderly conduct by language. The incident occurred after the male began harassing and cursing at a female worker at the courthouse.
  • While the S.O. and the Young County S.O. were working together in an attempt to serve arrest warrants at The Woodland Village Apartments, the S.O. came in contact with a male who was in possession of marijuana. The drug and its paraphernalia were seized and an investigation is ongoing.

May 25

  • The Sheriff’s Office coordinated the planning and executions of safety and security measures at the county airport for the Breckenridge Airshow. That required multiple weeks of planning. All of the deputies worked extra hours and about one dozen volunteers for the S.O. assisted too. Sheriff Will Holt would like to thank all of his staff, Breckenridge Police Department, and the S.O. volunteers who contributed. Sheriff Holt would also like to thank the Chamber of Commerce, Ezell Aviation, and the remainder of the local aviation community who lead the way in coordinating and hosting the airshow. Breckenridge Fire Department and Sacred Cross EMS also provided valuable roles regarding fire prevention, detection, heat exhaustion treatment, etc.

May 26

  • A deputy arrested a 44-year-old male for a warrant out of Throckmorton County for Terroristic Threat. Original contact with the male occurred in the 1400 block of East Connell Street.

 May 29

  • A deputy transported a male patient to a mental health hospital in Abilene. The transport was a result of an emergency detention order being signed due to the male being an imminent danger to himself or others.
  • A 25-year-old male was transported from Taylor County Jail to Stephens County Jail by one of our detention officers. A deputy then served the following three arrest warrants on the male: Criminal Trespass, Possession of Drugs, and Criminal Mischief equal or more to $750 but less than $2,500.

 June 2

  • A deputy transported a female patient to a mental health hospital in San Angelo. The transport was a result of an emergency detention order being signed due to the female being an imminent danger to herself or others.
  • Additional cattle were found dead and missing near CR 292. If the public has any tips on who is responsible, you can be anonymous when you report what you know.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
