Boil Water Notice issued for a few blocks in west Breckenridge
The City of Breckenridge’s Public Works Director has issued a Boil Water Notice for water customers living between West Dyer and Jeanette streets and between North Dairy and Westwood streets, effective Thursday, May 24.
The Boil Water Notice was issued due to conditions in the water system which have occurred. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the City to notify all customers in the affected area to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
The Boil Water Notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours from when it was issued. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.
