J.D. Lee
J.D. Lee, 94, died on Monday, May 14, 2018, in Abilene, Texas. Graveside service with Jim Cox officiating will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Murray Memorial Cemetery in Carbon, Texas. The Lee Family will receive family and friends at the Melton-Kitchens chapel on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 6 to 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.
J.D. was born on June 29, 1923, in Breckenridge, Texas, to Allen Lee and Jeanie Della Robinson Lee. He married Jean Slone on April 20, 1946, in Albany, and she preceded him in death in 2017. He had served in the United States Air Force and worked as a mechanic at a gasoline plant until his retirement. He was a member of the Elliott Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by daughter, Gail Lee Carter of Ruidoso, New Mexico; son, Steven Rodney Lee of Granbury, Texas; and, seven grandchildren. J.D. was preceded in death by sisters Cecil Ellis and Ruby Stass; and brothers Willie Lee and Jesse Lee.
