L.C. Boyd
L.C. Boyd, 85, passed from this life to the next on Monday, April 30, 2018, in Athens, Texas. Funeral service with Otho Noggle officiating will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 4 p.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2-4 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.
L.C. Boyd was born on February 15, 1933, in Caddo, Texas, to R.L. “Bud” Boyd and Cleo Taylor Boyd. He married Edith Elizabeth Rogers on June 29, 1962, in Athens, Texas. He was a certified welder and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife Edith of Athens; sons, Jerry Don Bufkin and wife Teresa of Mineral Wells, Leslea Joe Boyd of Breckenridge, Tracy Mark Boyd and wife Brooke of Athens, and Jimmy Wayne Boyd and wife Samantha of Athens; sisters, Mildred McCullough and husband Jerry of Cleburne, Samantha Pesch of Breckenridge, Veneta “Pete” McCullough of Breckenridge, and Eva Latham of Breckenridge; brother, David Boyd of Breckenridge; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stanley Ray Boyd; sister, Edna Poteet; and brother, Kenneth Eugene Boyd.
