Local 4-H’ers compete in Plant ID contest

Five Stephens County 4-H Plant ID members competed at the Hackamore Ranch Open Invitational Contest on April 14 in Thorndale.

Mykel Walters competed as senior individual and placed seventh.

The junior team of Hannah Moreno, Nathan Tatum, Kason Burchett and Levi Adams placed second, behind Milam County 4-H.

As junior individuals, Moreno was second and won a $500 savings bond. Tatum placed fifth; Burchett was eighth; and Adams was 11th.

On senior competition, 4Hers from Comal County won both the Plant ID and Range Contests taking home two $5,000 scholarships given by Cody and Albina Fowler.
