March 26

  • Sheriff Will Holt attended a board meeting at Dr. Goodall’s House, which is our local Child Advocacy Center. The sheriff would like to encourage local residents to become board members alongside him and/or volunteer as a mentor for at-risk youth. Contact the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office for more details at 254-559-2481. Dr. Goodall’s House is a non-profit organization that accepts donations.

March 27

  • A deputy arrested a 43-year-old female at the LEC for a motion to adjudicate felony warrant, related to injury of a child/elderly person.
  • The sheriff was the guest speaker for the Woman’s Forum monthly event. He spoke about his first year in office, the two divisions that make up the sheriff’s office, his staff, his two budgets, common misconceptions, and also answered several questions.

March 28

  • A deputy drove to Parker County Jail and transported an inmate back to Stephens County Jail, where the 35-year-old male was served two warrants related to drug dealing and violating a promise to appear in court.
  • A deputy transported a Stephens County inmate to a TDCJ unit near Jacksboro.

March 29

  • A deputy went to the Walker Sayle TDCJ Unit and transported an inmate back to Stephens County jail, where the 35-year-old male was served a felony bench warrant.
  • A deputy arrested a 21-year-old female in the 200 block of West First Street for a warrant related to Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information.
  • A terroristic threats report was made on CR 311, where neighbors were having a confrontation.

April 2

  • A warrant service was conducted at the intersection of West Wheeler Street and South Douglas Avenue after a tip from a citizen. A 22-year-old male was arrested on five warrants. Two of them were felony warrants related to drug possession, and three of them were Class C Misdemeanor warrants related to drug paraphernalia and public intoxication out of Breckenridge and Cisco. The subject was also in possession of drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest. He was issued a citation for that.
  • A 37-year-old male was served an arrest warrant for Contempt of Court at the Stephens County Jail.
  • A delayed report of theft was made when the victim notified the S.O. that back in March he paid for labor services and materials that were never completed or delivered. This occurred on CR 215.

April 3

  • The sheriff was interviewed for a project with BHS students in Mr. Best’s video production class.

April 6

  • A 22-year-old male was arrested at the LEC for two assault warrants. He was booked into the jail and then bonded out.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
