Breckenridge Idol auditions set for Saturday, April 7

Auditions for the 12th annual Breckenridge Idol singing competition will be Saturday, April 7, at the National Theatre, 116 E. Walker St.

The auditions will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and are open to anyone age 12 and older. Those eligible to compete in the contest must not be signed to a record label, not have been signed to a record label in the past and must not have won first place at the Breckenridge Idol competition before.

The auditions are hosted by the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce, the City of Breckenridge, RoughWood Recording Studio, K-Lakes 95.3 FM radio station and the National Theatre.

Although the auditions are this coming Saturday, the contest will be held on Saturday, May 5, during Frontier Days. The first place winner will receive $1,000 cash and five hours of studio time at RoughWood Recording Studio. Second place will receive $350, and third place will receive $150.

The cash prizes are sponsored by McDonald’s of Breckenridge/Graham (David and Carol Whealy).
