City rescinds boil water notice issued on March 30

15:44 2018

The City of Breckenridge has ended the boil water notice that was issued on March 30.

The notice affected water customers from U.S. Highway 180 to Elliott Street and from Jackson Avenue to Melrose Avenue.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue the boil water notices to inform customers that due to an interruption in service, water from the system must be boiled prior to consumption.

The City has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information regarding the matter, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
