Texas Department of Transportation crews have reduced the FM 1852 bridge at the East Fork of Gonzales Creek near Lake Daniel to one lane while awaiting scheduled repairs.

The bridge repair contractor was scheduled to begin repairs on Wednesday, March 29. However, due to this week’s rainfall, repairs have been rescheduled until the week of April 2 to allow the adjacent soil to dry out. In the meantime, traffic flow will be controlled by temporary signals in order for vehicles to avoid being damaged by a hole that has developed in the northbound lane.

TxDOT engineers have determined that the bridge is structurally sound and safe for continued vehicle use, though crews will continue to monitor the bridge until repairs can be made.
