“Community Matters,” a free community-wide event for the citizens of Stephens County to receive information and engage in conversation about the topic of suicide awareness and prevention, will be presented tonight, Thursday, March 22, at the National Theatre in Breckenridge.

The event, sponsored by the Open Door Pregnancy and Family Resource Center, will feature Jason Watts as the guest speaker. Watts is a licensed clinical pastoral counselor, as well as the pastor of Allen Life Chapel in the DFW Metroplex community of Allen.

This event was originally scheduled for February but was canceled due to icy weather. Watts spoke at a similar event in Cisco last month.

The program is designed to raise awareness about suicide and help the community members learn what they can do to help those in need.

The free event is open to the public and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. at the National Theatre, 116 E. Walker St.
