William L. Fulbright
William L. Fulbright, 81, passed from this life to the next Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Funeral service with Rev. Kevin Kennedy officiating will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge.
William L. Fulbright was born on November 18, 1936, in Breckenridge, Texas, to Arba Fulbright and Thelma Mary Pierce Fulbright. He graduated from Breckenridge High School, and served 20 years in the United States Army serving 2 tours during the Vietnam War. He married Irma Chapa on February 14, 1986, in Abilene, and he worked in insurance sales.
He is survived by his wife, Irma of Abilene; sons, William Fulbright Jr. and wife Christy of Brenham, Bradley Fulbright and wife Tatum of Odessa, and Gregory Fulbright and wife Tammy of Brenham; step-daughter, Brenda Spotts of Abilene; step-son, Joseph McNeil of Espanola, New Mexico; sisters, Delores Mehaffey of Lake Kiowa and Rose Harrison of Breckenridge; 5 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
