Sheriff’s Weekly Summary

For the previous week, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office answered 39 calls for service, successfully served 4 civil papers, and as of Monday, March 5, the jail was housing 27 inmates.

February 26

  • A child abuse report was made to the sheriff’s office through CPS and one of the local schools. The crime is alleged to have occurred at a residence on U.S. Highway 183 South. The S.O. investigated the crime, and has forwarded it to the prosecutor’s office for review.

February 28

  • A 32-year-old male was served a felony arrest warrant related to a past charge of Continuous Violence Against the Family. The person was already in the Stephens County Jail when the arrest warrant was served.
  • A deputy transported a male inmate from the Stephens County Jail to a TDCJ prison near Jacksboro.

March 1

  • A 31-year-old male was arrested by a deputy for four warrants related to traffic violations out of Graham. His arrest occurred when he arrived to the Law Enforcement Center to check in with his bond supervision officer.

March 2

  • Sheriff Will Holt presented active shooter training ( ) to a group of men who are members and leaders at Bethany Baptist Church. Sheriff Holt and Chief Deputy Kevin Roach are available to provide this training to any church, organization, business, or school. Call the S.O. to inquire about scheduling a time. Each course will be between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours in length.

March 4

  • A 32-year-old male was issued a criminal trespass warning for a residence on CR 263.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
