Eric A. Beauchamp, 29, of Breckenridge, pleaded guilty last week to charges involving the sexual assault of two minors and agreed to a 50-year prison sentence, according to information provided by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.

Beauchamp and his attorney agreed to the guilty plea and sentence on Thursday, Feb. 15, in the 90th Judicial District Courtroom at Stephens County Courthouse. The plea agreement with District Attorney Dee Peavy’s office stemmed from a SCSO investigation that began in August 2017 when the Sheriff’s Office discovered that Beauchamp was being accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile.

The sheriff’s department interviewed Beauchamp, and he admitted to sexually assaulting two juveniles over three separate time periods. Beauchamp was arrested on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of sexual assault of a child. He was indicted by a grand jury later in 2017.

Sheriff Will Holt said in a media release that he is proud of the team effort by the SCSO and the DA’s office.
