Bennie Marshall ‘B.M.’ Mercer

Bennie Marshall “B.M.” Mercer, 87, passed from this life to the next Monday, February 5, 2018. Funeral service with Rev. Dannie Lee officiating will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

Bennie Marshall Mercer was born on November 10, 1930, in Woodson, Texas, to Walt Mercer and Sarah Roberts Mercer. He married Willie Nell Mercer on November 5, 1955, in Breckenridge. He owned Mercer Construction, worked in the oilfield as a roustabout and pumper, and owned the Almost New Shop where he sold and repaired appliances.

He is survived by his daughters, Marsha Harrison and husband John, and Karen Guynes and husband Carl, all of Breckenridge; grandchildren, Krissie Diaz, Bobby Guynes, Kevin Guynes, Keith Harrison, Skylar Guynes, and Mellissa Mercer; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Willie Nell Mercer, in 2011; son, Bennie Mitchell Mercer, in 2006; and three sisters.
