Loretta Rodgers Boggs
Loretta Rodgers Boggs, 84, passed from this life to the next Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Abilene. Funeral service with Charles Kuhn officiating will be held Monday, February 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m.
Loretta Rodgers was born on December 3, 1933, in Stephens County to John Drew Rodgers and Pauline Caudle Rodgers. Loretta married Troy Jack Boggs in June of 1950 in Albany and he preceded her in death. She had been employed by Davis Manufacturing, Ridge Motel, Stephens Memorial Hospital in admissions, and then at Wal-Mart where she retired from.
Survivors include her son, James Boggs and wife, Dana of Breckenridge; daughter, Lorey White and husband, Thomas of Breckenridge; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Troy Jack Boggs; son, Tommy Jack Boggs; grandson, Shawn Boggs; brothers, Ira, Russell, and Floyd Rodgers; and a sister, Verna Mae Brower.
