Sheriff’s Weekly Summary

For the previous week, the sheriff’s office answered 43 calls for service, served three civil documents, and as of Sunday, Jan. 28, the jail was housing 41 inmates.

January 22

  • An emergency detention order was signed resulting in the sheriff’s office transporting a 20-year-old male to a mental health hospital in Abilene.
  • A deputy served an arrest warrant issued by the 90th District Court. It was related to possession of drugs and served on a 42-year-old male who was already in the Stephens County Jail.

January 23

  • A deputy transported a male who voluntarily wanted to check himself into a mental health hospital in Wichita Falls.
  • An illegal dumping report was made in the 1700 block of CR 217.

January 24

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant on a 37-year-old male for a traffic citation that was not previously attended to. The arrest warrant was served at a residence on CR 240.
  • A burglary of a lake home was reported in the 2300 block of FM 3201.

January 25

  • A deputy arrested a 32-year-old female in the 90th District Courtroom for a warrant related to a criminal trespass.
  • The sheriff joined Charlie Parker live on air at the 93.5 KLXK studio to talk about the upcoming severe storm watch class. It is this coming Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at TSTC. Anyone can attend, and the class is being taught by the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
  • The sheriff’s office arrested an 18-year-old female for a warrant related to a shoplifting theft. This also occurred in the 90th District Courtroom.
  • The sheriff was a guest speaker at the free lunch for high school students hosted by The Open Door. This free lunch occurs every last Thursday of each month and is designed for someone to speak about their faith to the students who attend.

January 26

  • A deputy issued a 37-year-old male a criminal trespass warning for an address in the 7200 block of U.S. Highway 180 West. The same man was arrested on the 24.
  • A delayed report of child abuse was made, and the location of the alleged crime occurred at a residence on U.S. Highway 183 South.

January 27

  • A 21-year-old female was issued a criminal trespass warning for an address on CR 309.
  • A delayed report of sexual assault was made by a female.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
