Sheriff’s Weekly Summary

For the previous week, the sheriff’s office answered 32 calls for service and as of Christmas day was housing 37 inmates in the jail.

December 18

  • A deputy transported a female inmate to a prison unit in Gatesville.

 December 20

  • The sheriff’s office organized and hosted the annual community plan meeting, which helps recognize resources and needs within the community that can be used by individuals or public service entities. This plan also helps to qualify such entities for receiving grants each year.

December 22

  • A 36-year-old male turned himself in to the Chief Deputy after the sheriff’s office obtained a felony warrant on him for aggravated assault.
  • The sheriff’s office was dispatched to the 1300 block of East Lindsey for a disturbance. At the location, a 19-year-old-male was observed to be sniffing gasoline. He was placed under arrest for possession of a volatile chemical to use for inhaling or ingesting.

December 24

  • Deputies were dispatched to a family violence call on County Road 218. The known suspect was transported to the emergency room for injuries. The victim sustained minor injuries and does wish to prosecute.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
