Boil Water Notice issued for Edgewood, Morris Acres, Ridgeway
December 19
09:06 2017

On Monday, Dec. 18, the City of Breckenridge issued a Boil Water Notice for the water customers in the following additions: Edgewood, Morris Acres and Ridgeway. It does not include homes or businesses on West Elliott Street.

The Boil Water Notice was issued due to a water line tie in resulting in valves being turned off. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the City to notify all customers in the affected area to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

The Boil Water Notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours from when it was issued. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559-7249.
