Sheriff’s Weekly Summary
For the previous week, the sheriff’s office answered 45 calls for service and successfully served nine sets of civil papers.
December 4
- A deputy arrested a male for public intoxication after responding to report of a motorist on the side of the road on Highway 67.
- A male inmate from Stephens County Jail was transported to a prison near Abilene.
December 8
- A theft report was made on CR 283 of an electric motor for a tank battery site.
- Chief Deputy Kevin Roach and Sheriff Will Holt attended a course on how to train Civilians’ Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE). In a couple of weeks, the sheriff’s office will start offering these trainings to churches, other organizations, and the public at large.
Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
