The BYC Cheerleaders/Party Planet float, pictured above, won first place in the Christmas Parade, which took place Saturday night in downtown Breckenridge. Second place went to Maggie Anderson — Farmers Insurance Agent, and Breckenridge Cub Scout Pack 81 placed third. The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce organized the parade and announced the winners Monday morning.

The almost 40 floats in the annual parade were judged on their theme interpretation, creativity and originality. The theme of this year’s parade was “Let it Snow with a Warm and Cozy Ugly Sweater.”

Saturday night’s event also included the lighting of the community Christmas tree in the park on the corner of Walker Street and Breckenridge Avenue, featuring a performance by the Breckenridge High School band and Kaitlyn Langford, winner of Breckenridge Kids Got Talent competition, which was held during the  2017 Frontier Days.
