Although today’s temperatures are expected to reach 60 degrees in Breckenridge, it will likely drop down into the upper 40s by the time tonight’s Christmas Parade gets underway. The parade is set to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, and immediately following the parade, the lighting of the community Christmas tree and a Christmas concert will take place.

The parade should have almost 40 entries, and the floats will be lined up along North Miller Street before the event begins. They will proceed south on Miller, turning east onto Walker Street. The parade will continue down Walker Street, past the crowds of spectators, and then turn left onto North Baylor Street to end the show.

During the parade, each float will be introduced in front of the Stephens County Courthouse.

For those with floats in the parade, the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page has a lineup list.

After the parade will be the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and Christmas music by the Breckenridge High School band and local singers in the “pocket park” on the corner of Walker Street and Breckenridge Avenue.
