The Stephens County AgriLife Extension office and the Stephens County Farm Bureau will sponsor a car seat checkup from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Walmart, 3800 W. Walker St. in Breckenridge. The event is co-sponsored by the Passenger Safety project in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation.

Car seat specialists will be in Stephens County to make sure car seats are installed correctly in local residents’ vehicles. Additionally, more than 20 car seats will be available to be given to families that don’t have the proper seats for their children or families with damaged car seats.

Parents need to bring the car seat, if they have one, and their child and know their child’s weight and height.

For more information, call Sumer Burns, Stephens County Extension agent, at 254-559-5513.
