Due to new water lines being connected, a boil water notice has been issued for the Breckenridge water customers on South Cutting Avenue, Aberdeen Street, Valley Drive, Power Street and Parrish Street, according to Public Works Director Houston Satterwhite.

To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and ice making should be boiled for at least two minutes. In lieu of boiling water, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water for some other suitable source, according to the City of Breckenridge.

The boil water notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. For more information, call the City of Breckenridge at 254-559-8287 or the water office at 254-559-7249.

The Breckenridge Texan will provide more information as it becomes available.
