Gone much sooner than we ever wanted, Ben Davis, age 20 of Breckenridge, died on Thursday, November 23, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 26, at Bethany Baptist Church with Mark Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 25, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Morehart Mortuary.

Born March 14, 1997, in Decatur, Texas, Benjamin Luke Davis was welcomed into this world by his parents, sister and a big and boisterous Davis Family. He grew up in Breckenridge where he loved to do all things that involved outdoors and sports. From fishing the Brazos River, camping at Possum Kingdom Lake, hunting bird and deer across Stephens County to playing Little Bucks Football, Ben defined the phrase “all boy.” The football bug bit Ben hard in childhood and quickly became his passion up through his high school years. He was the truest of friends to his pack and devoted to the bond of family. A proud Buckaroo, he was a 2016 graduate of Breckenridge High School.

Ben was dearly loved and supported by his mother, Sherry. For every football practice and game, she sat in the stands proudly cheering on her son and his teammates. He adored his big sister, Samantha, and she could do no wrong in his eyes. His great-grandmother, Lorene, was especially impressed by “Little Ben.” He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Lorene and Glenn Davis, and his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Fancher.

Ben is survived by his mother, Sherry Davis of Breckenridge; father, Craig French of Ocala, Florida; sister, Samantha Davis of Fort Worth; girlfriend, Ashton Jones of Breckenridge; maternal grandfather, Jerry K. Davis of Breckenridge; paternal grandparents, Frances and Gene French of Ocala, Florida; uncles, Jerry D. Davis and wife Gina of Odessa, Ben K. Davis and wife Irene of Odessa, Randy Davis and wife Helen of Burleson and Cody Wildman and wife Andrea of Reno. A large extended family of great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins also survive him.

Family and friends are welcome to share condolences and memories online at www.morehartmortuary.net.
