Boil water notice issued for Curry Pool Road residents
A boil water notice has been issued for the City of Breckenridge water customers off of Curry Pool Road, effective Wednesday, Nov. 22, according to Public Works Director Houston Satterwhite.
According to the notice released by the City, a water line break has required valves to be turned off, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required that all affected customers be notified to boil their water prior to consumption.
To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and ice making should be boiled for at least two minutes. In lieu of boiling water, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water for some other suitable source, according to the City of Breckenridge.
The boil water notice will be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify each customer directly in the affected area.
For more information, call the City of Breckenridge at 254-559-8287 or the water office at 254-559-7249.
The Breckenridge Texan will provide more information as it becomes available.
