Breckenridge’s North Elementary students and staff joined parents and others in the school’s second annual Turkey Trot and canned food drive Tuesday morning, Nov. 21. The runners and walkers left the school just after 9 a.m., traveled down to Breckenridge Avenue, around through the neighborhood and back to the school.

Each participant was asked to bring a canned good to be donated to the Cafe of Love food pantry at First United Methodist Church. The event is held by North Elementary to teach the students to practice healthy habits and to help others.
