Ronald Rex “R.J.” Alford Jr., 35, passed from this life to the next, surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, November 17, 2017, in Abilene. Graveside service will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Merriman Cemetery in Ranger. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge.

R.J. was born on February 10, 1982, in Fort Worth to Ronald Rex Alford Sr. and Vicki Carole Bramlett Alford. He graduated from Ranger High School. R.J. had been an owner and manager of the El Rancho Café in Ranger, owned Furniture USA in Eastland, and most recently was the cafeteria manager at Ranger College.

He is survived by his mother, Vicki Alford of Ranger; sister, Carole Lynn Newsome and husband Jerry of Weatherford; brother, Greg Alford and wife Donna of Carbon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Rex Alford Sr. and his grandparents.
