Hubert Dwain Tolle, 87, passed from this life to the next on Thursday, November 16, 2017, in Sweetwater. Funeral mass with Fr. DeWayne Adams officiating will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Gunsight Cemetery under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

Dwain was born on June 5, 1930, to Hubert N.B. Tolle and Mollie Cecile Tolle. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1948, and attended Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and A&M, later graduating from Ranger Junior college with an associate’s degree in business. Mr. Tolle married Carolyn Tate on June 1, 1956.

He owned and operated Tolle’s Cleaners and Laundry from 1958-1972. Dwain had been a past mayor of Breckenridge and became the city manager in 1972, a position he held until 1992. He was a long-time member of the Breckenridge Rotary Club, where he obtained the distinction of being a Paul Harris Fellow. Mr. Tolle was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. He loved traveling in his RV and spending summers at Fun Valley, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Dwain Tolle in 1993; and his wife, of 61 years, Carolyn Tate Tolle in May of 2017.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Ruffin and husband, Kent, and Stacey Marlett and husband, Mike, all of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Andrew Ruffin and wife Jessica of Blanket, Chelsea Ruffin of Waco, Austin Marlett of San Angelo, Allison Marlett of Sweetwater, and Tyler Marlett, also of Sweetwater.

Memorials can be made to Hendrick Hospice Care or St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
