Sharon Coughran was born to Ted and Barbara Blaize Coughran on October 26, 1961, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

She passed on November 11, 2017, at the age of 56 in Odessa, Texas. Her determination and will to make the best of the challenges she faced are an inspiration to us all.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Earl Stoker; son, Blaize Michael (Monica) and granddaughter, Arianna Jae Coughran; as well as her mother, Barbara of Argyle; sisters, Kathleen of Grapevine, D’Jelma (Brannon) of Dallas, and Susan of Edna; and brother, Mark of Austin. Also surviving her are nephews Jeremy, Kendall, Ted, Zane, and Quina; and nieces Melora, Alanna, Lavinia, Maria, and Chastity. She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Coughran.

Sharon and her family moved to Argyle in 1970, where she attended school through 9th grade. She was a 1980 graduate of Denton High School and a 1984 graduate of Texas A&M University. Sharon was a retired teacher, homemaker, and currently served on the Pyote City Council.

Among Sharon’s happiest times where the summers she spent at Camp Sweeney in Gainesville, Texas, first as a camper and then as a counselor. The friends she made there, and their support over the years, were much treasured.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Beaty-Mathiews Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge, Texas, 415 W. Williams St.
