“Texas, Our Texas” is the theme for the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce’s 99th annual banquet and auction, which will include a performance by aerobatic pilot David Martin, as well as prizes, raffles, a live auction, a silent auction and a renewed focus on networking for the Breckenridge business community.

“We want to make this a good opportunity for community members to network,” said Chamber Executive Director Rhonda Crawford. “We just want to get back to our roots.”

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11, will be open to general public, not just chamber members. Tickets cost $50 each and are available at the Chamber of Commerce office, 130 E. Elm St.

Attendees will have a chance to win the door prize of $1,000 and to be there for the drawing to see who wins the 2017 Chevy truck the chamber is giving away.

Truck Raffle
Tickets for the Chevy truck drawing cost $100 each, and only 600 are available. Although the drawing will take place during the chamber banquet, the winner does not have to be present to win.

Specifically, the truck is a 2017 Chevrolet 1500 Silverado, Texas Edition, 2WD, LT Crew Cab. It’s a six-speed automatic with a 5.3 liter V8 engine and a rear vision camera. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $44,780. It has been purchased from Breckenridge’s Carstens Motor Company and is on display in the mini-park on the corner of Breckenridge Avenue and Walker Street.

Raffle tickets for the truck are available at the Chamber of Commerce, Gold Stop, Carstens Motor Company, Breckenridge InterBank and First National Bank. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce.

Banquet
The banquet will take place at the Stephens County Airport on County Road 150, hangar 312. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m. David Martin’s aerobatic show in his yellow Breitling airplane will begin at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Throughout the event, music will be provided by a DJ.

The dinner will include steaks by Ronnie Calsoncin and crew; baked potatoes, salad and dinner rolls by Marketplace; greet beans by L&L Family Restaurant; and, cake for dessert by Sweet Accessories.

Auction and door prize
This year’s chamber banquet is being held in a bigger hangar than last year. With the added space, the chamber has brought back the silent auction, Crawford said. Additionally, the live auction is being handled differently. Rather than hire an auctioneer, the chamber has asked local citizens to auction off the items of particular interest to them.

Some of the auction items include a Louis Vuitton duffle bag, a ladies handgun package, two hunting packages, a basket of scratch-off lottery tickets, a charcoal drawing of Johnny Cash and much more.

This year’s door prize is $1,000, sponsored by Buck Canyon Ranch, First National Bank of Albany/Breckenridge, InterBank and J&J Electric. The winner of the door prize must be present to win.

For more information or to order tickets over the phone, call the chamber at 254-559-2301.
