Sheriff’s Weekly Summary

For the previous week, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office answered 46 calls for service and served 13 sets of civil papers.

Oct. 10

  • A 59-year-old male, currently on federal probation for robbery, was arrested on three warrants for being a felon in possession of firearms. The warrants were generated the day before, stemming from a burglary of habitation investigation that was reported last weekend. Three of the firearms in that burglary have been found by the Sheriff’s Office and returned to the victims. The Sheriff’s Office is working with federal probation to revoke the arrested person’s probation. Sheriff’s TIP: Write down the serial numbers of all firearms and other valuables and store that information in a safe place.  That is the best way for the Sheriff’s Office to help get your property back.
  • The Sheriff spoke to the kids at First Baptist Church’s Wee School as a part of Community Helper’s Week. Approximately 35 children were in attendance, where they learned what police officers and deputies do to serve and protect kids and their families. Coloring books on safety and sticker badges were given to the children.

 Oct. 11

  • A deputy traveled to Polk County Jail to arrest a 30-year-old female who was wanted out of Stephens County. The deputy transported the female to the Stephens County jail, where she was booked on warrants related to probation revocation and traffic violations.

Oct. 12

Each of them were booked into Stephens County Jail for the following four offenses: first-degree felony for manufacture/delivery of methamphetamine, state jail felony for possession of ecstasy, Class A misdemeanor for possession of Xanax (Alprazolam), and Class B misdemeanor for possession of marijuana.  One of the people arrested, a 29-year-old male, was also wanted by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a parole violation warrant. The Breckenridge Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
