For the previous week, the sheriff’s office had 39 calls for service and served 6 sets of civil papers.

Sept. 18

  • The truck and boat trailer stolen last week were found in Shackelford County by one of their deputies. We responded to that location and processed the crime scene.  Several items were stolen from inside the vehicle.  The Sheriff would like to remind people to lock their vehicles and do not leave valuable items inside.

 Sept. 20

  • One of our deputies served an arrest warrant on a 28-year-old male in the Nacogdoches County Jail, then transported him back to the Stephens County Jail. The warrant was related to felony possession of drugs.

Sept. 24

  • A deputy responded to the 300 block of West Fourth Street for a welfare concern. While there, the deputy arrested a 38-year-old female for a warrant related to a citation for no vehicle insurance.

Note: Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, serving civil papers, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, etc.
