The Breckenridge High School Buckaroos honored veterans and first responders with a tribute at their weekly pep rally this morning, in advance of Sept. 11, recognized nationally as Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance.

The special guests were given seats of honor in front of the football team at the pep rally, and teacher Calvin Best spoke on behalf of the students and staff, thanking them for their service. The first responders and veterans are true heroes, he said.

The Buckaroos football team will play the Mineral Wells Rams at 7:30 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 8, in Buckaroo Stadium, and the Lady Bucks volleyball team will take on Snyder Saturday morning in the high school gym.
