Running waterThe City of Breckenridge announced just after noon Friday, Aug. 18, that the boil water notice has been lifted. Customers may use tap water as usual.

The notice was put in place Wednesday when an eight-inch water line near Ridge Road broke and drained water from two of the City’s water towers.  Breckenridge City manager Andy McCuistion said they cut about a six- to eight-foot section out of the pipe and as part of the repair were installing a cut-off valve.

According information provided by the City, the necessary corrective actions were taken to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality was provided with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information, call the City of Breckenridge at 254-559-8287 or the city Water Office at 254-559-7249.
