Burn ban continues for Stephens County
August 14
20:00 2017

The Stephens County Commissioners voted Monday morning to continue the burn ban.

According to the Breckenridge Fire Department’s Facebook page, on Sunday afternoon, someone in the county was burning trash and “ended up burning down the neighbor’s lake house.”

BFD Fire Chief and Stephens County Fire Marshal Calvin Chaney emphasized that the ban means “no burning. You cannot burn in a can, you cannot burn in a pit, you cannot burn period.”

For more information, call the BFD at 254-559-6242.
